Would 'How Much?' be a rude question?

My Vodafone 3G honeymoon appears to be over, and they've knocked me back down to GPRS (worse than dial-up) after giving me a trouble-free 7 months of wonderful 3G speeds  :'(

Customer Support don't seem to give a toss...

Can ya get a 3G signal anywhere in the house. near any windows? If so a 3G router is what ya need. Great also for sharing you 3G between multiple computers. I've got a couple in stock at the moment.

I knew you cared. ;) The plasma cutter arrived today Crazy :). Worked just fine until I blew a fuse in my extenshion lead :grrr. It worked on 1mm so I had to turn it all the way up and try it on 10mm stainless. ;D. I blame Caddy, I saw his once and had to buy one.

If so a 3G router is what ya need. Great also for sharing you 3G between multiple computers. I've got a couple in stock at the moment.

From past experience locating your 3G modem closer to a window you can get a better signal. It will only work if the 3G signal is outside. If vodafone have turned off the 3G signal in your area there is little hope.

I couldn't tell you what Vodafone have done to be honest....each different customer support/data support bod gives me a different story.
One told me that my area has never had 3G, and basically stated to me that I was lying if I claimed I'd ever connected on 3G  ::)
I asked him to look at my download log, and tell me how I could do that much each day on a GPRS connection....he couldn't answer me on that one....oh, I've been accused of lying about my 3G on more than one occasion, a charming way to treat a customer ::)
Another one told me that there were now more customers in my area, and as such the signal was spread between all of us, and as a result was weaker....does that make any sense Kieran?
I suggested to him that Vodafone take all their extra profit from all these extra customers around here, and reinvest it in the service they are providing in this area...this was also met with silence.
One replaced my dongle thingamy....this has been replaced 3 times now in the last 6 weeks  ::)
I've upgraded to the new software, I've uninstalled and gone back to the old software.
Another one told me to put my dongle-wotsit in an empty pint glass... :-\

I've stopped ringing them now, as the explanations and recommendations have started to get a bit desperate........but did tell them on my last call that when my contract is up I won't be renewing...strangely, that was met with silence too...

did they suggest you drink a dozen pints out of it first so you mightn't notice the rubbish service? Mental  :o
